Adding Thanksgiving adornments to your home brings in an element of joy and warmth to the holidays. The greatest thing about the following inspirations is that you don't have to dedicate an entire day to accomplishing this. With just a little scent and a few visuals, you can transform your home into a wonderfully inviting seasonal retreat.
Welcoming Walk Way
To give your front yard a welcoming holiday look, try planting some mums in pots and place them around trees and use them to line your walkway. Some pretty wooden signs with pumpkins and turkeys would be cute and don't forget a thanksgiving welcome mat and wreath. If you have a railing or a fence you could weave some fall colored garland in and out of the posts for that perfect Thanksgiving feel.
Fireplace Mantle Decor
Your fireplace is one of the coziest areas in your home so why not decorate it for Thanksgiving? A lovely display of scented candles, small pumpkins and dried corn should do the trick and for a finishing touch, a fall garland placed behind the arrangement.
Cool Canvas Prints
A beautiful, warm Thanksgiving photo printed on canvas like Canvas Press does, would look sensational in your home. It could be of your entire family in the perfect fall setting or the snapshot of the gorgeous autumn leaves you photographed back in October that lined your streets. You could order a few stretched canvases to accent each room. Photograph that delicious dish you created in your kitchen, have it stretched on canvas and then hang in your dinning room. You could also place the family portrait above your fireplace.
Thanksgiving Centerpiece for Dinning-room Table
By pulling a few items together that you have lying around the house, you can get a great Thanksgiving centerpiece. Search your kitchen for a large oval serving platter, preferably made of silver or pewter. Grab some warm colored, heavy-duty drip-less candles, a few red leaves from your garden, (If you can get your hands on some maple leaves...even better!), some chestnuts and a lovely satin ribbon. Arrange your centerpiece by adding the candles next to each other in a row followed by the fall leaves nicely placed around them. Add the chestnuts artistically throughout the arrangement then weave the ribbon between the candles to tie it all together. On the leaves, using a white pen, you can write the name of the people and things that you love, to show your guests how thankful you are for them.
It doesn't take a lot of effort to dress your home for the holidays. With a little imagination and some wonderful guests you can have a warm and welcoming thanksgiving that you and your loved ones will remember for years to come.
